The case against real estate giant Keller Williams has finally been given a judgement, with the jury voting entirely in favor of the couple bringing the real estate company to trial. Shawn and Stephanie Holloway took to the courts to prove that they had been misled, deceived, and victimized through statutory fraud by the company when they purchased a house through a Keller Williams agent and discovered later that termite prevention measures for the building were nonexistent, with the house itself already being half-eaten by the insects.

The case highlights the importance of demanding to see proof of proper termite prevention or control measures for properties before buying them. The Holloways’ lawyer, Adam Green, noted that one major reason for the Holloways’ bringing the case to court was to prevent what happened to them from repeating with other people. Green described the trials of the Holloways as “ridiculous”, stating that no consumer should have to experience what they did.

Termite Control Gilbert

The couple originally purchased the house in 2009 from a Keller Williams agent, and moved into the building in that same year. They closed on that home in May and started to have upgrade work performed on it, during which time it was discovered that the house was infested with termites. The damage was apparently so extensive that one contractor merely pushed on one wall and managed to push it inwards by several inches due to the weakness of the destroyed wood. Naturally, the Holloways were unable to live in such conditions. They had to move out of the home they had just acquired, which had suddenly become a bitter investment.

The case took over two years to come to trial, and although the judgement was in favor of the Holloways, Green maintains that it should never have taken so long or even happened at all. While Keller Williams maintains that they were unaware of the termite damage to the property, arguing that the agent—who also happened to be the seller, in a violation of real estate company policy—happened to be acting purely for her own selfish interests.

Termite Inspection Gilbert

Whatever the case, it should demonstrate the need for prospective buyers of properties to look into getting a free termite inspection prior to closing in on any deals—and to be sure to get a trustworthy termite control company to perform said inspection too, of course. Termite prevention is fairly easy to avail of due to the number of termite control companies nowadays, so there should be no reason for the seller of a house not to have termite prevention measures in place for the property on sale. Cases like that of the Holloways should be kept to a minimum, and one good way of doing that is to be a smart buyer.

Honda’s 2011 Motor Show in Tokyo has seen the presentation of the auto maker’s latest concept commuter car, currently dubbed the Honda Micro Commuter Concept. The car perpetuates several trends carried on by other auto manufacturers when it comes to futuristic concept vehicles, including the heavy emphasis on expanding auto glass surfaces on vehicles, non-petrol-based power, and trimmer vehicle designs that see cars getting shorter and smaller.

Cheap Windshield Replacement Phoenix

The auto glass on the Honda Micro Commuter Concept is interesting, not least because of a little tweak that sees the auto maker’s designers going beyond the usual expanded regions of glass and adding a false “stained glass” effect to certain parts of the vehicle for aesthetic effect. The “stained glass” presented at the auto show was incorporated in certain parts of the vehicle’s front as well as sides, and was done up in rhombi sectioned into triangular pieces with varying gradations of the colour blue. This, paired with the huge and sloping glass windshield-roof and glass pieces at the very bottoms of the doors (letting people on the street see passengers’ feet) contributed to the heavily futuristic, almost science-fiction-like appeal of the concept car.

As most other concept cars for the future, the Micro Commuter is apparently going to be an electric vehicle. This is usually the power of choice for car designers in this category, presumably because everyone is anticipating the day that petrol reserves truly become so thin that electricity becomes by far the cheaper solution for everybody. There is also the issue of cleaner energy use, of course, as petrol does tend to produce exhaust emissions that harm the atmosphere.

The Honda Micro Commuter is also going to be quite small as far as cars go—even cars in this category, as a matter of fact. The car is only going to be able to take three passengers—and that is if the driver is already included. People seeing it at the auto show actually marvelled at the remarkable slightness of the car, which some even feared might tip over easily due to its extremely compact profile. However, safety has been provided for by the designers of the vehicle, who have seen fit to shroud the vehicle’s wheels with large hoods that are attached directly to the body of the car. This is apparently for safety as well as to permit the car to achieve better speeds (due to lowered wind resistance).

Wide areas of auto glass, an electric engine, and small and futuristic design all make this concept car one to look out for if you are an enthusiast of latest-technology vehicles. It might not be for everyone—the small, almost toy-like profile shall be found difficult to love for those who like their cars big and beefy—but no one can deny that it sticks out even among other “future” cars from other companies due to its unusual stained glass styling.

An unexpected snowstorm in the last weekend of October saw the northeast states of the US suffering from various power outages as well as property damages. The storm brought down trees and power lines in various areas all over the region, leading to transport issues for residents and local businesses. One sector that has seen a sharp spike in business as a result of the storm, however, is the auto glass repair industry: with automobiles stranded and struck by matter thrown up by the storm, auto glass repair is naturally in the list of priorities as residents deal with the aftermath of the blizzard.

More than auto glass repairs shall be needed, however. The snowstorm actually brought down a great deal of precipitate: over half a metre of snow was left in many areas, choking streets and other transportation passages. The high winds during the storm also contributed to the damage, knocking down trees and posts.Utilities have been suspended in various areas, with power being the most commonly cut off utility.

This parallels some recent hailstorms in other areas of the US that have left many Americans bruised and battered after the devastating storms. Arizona Windshield Replacement provides auto glass repair for hailstorms. Auto glass repair has generally been one of the first services accessed by people after such events: the prospect of further storms, after all, makes the idea of driving around in a car with shattered windows quite daunting.Even if future storms only have rain for their precipitate, the idea is still enough to put off most people from hazarding their daily trips with shattered windshields or broken car windows.

Sometimes, even when the precipitate is fairly light, cracks and breaks still happen. In fact, this is perhaps better described as a common occurrence: a lot of Americans tend to wait for an actual break or line to manifest on their windshields before they take action and get a windshield repair.Hence, when sudden storms or cases of heavier-than-usual precipitation happen, they are caught unawares and the sudden stress takes advantage of the crack in their auto glass, infiltrating it and expanding what might have started out as a tiny crack into a major break on the windshield.

To prevent events such as this from happening, and to avoid the wildly unpredictable climates of today from taking their toll on your automobile, get an auto glass repair even before it turns into a case that calls for a replacement. It shall save you money in the long run, because it is ultimately the cheaper option, as well as a safer choice for you and your family if you happen to be caught by unexpected precipitation while actually on the road. When it comes to your family’s well-being, it is better to be safe rather than sorry.
